International DJ, Denim Maker, and friend for many years, Alberto Candiani shares some of his story below.
AR: What inspired you to get into your business?
AC: Family more than inspiration. I am a 4th generation Candiani… No need for inspiration really.
AR: What is your favorite motto?
AC: Not sure it will actually make sense in English: "If I am here there is a reason why I am here".
AR: What is your favorite destination to travel to?
AC: Probably Italy, I have spent so much time around the world that I am only now rediscovering my own country. It's still one of the most beautiful places on Earth.
AR: What’s on your bucket list of where you still want to go? Why?
AC: I have never done a real bucket list. Of course I have my own personal goals and a couple of things I will want to enjoy in the future, but I am focused on the present right now. Let's say for now, first thing on my bucket list would be to make one.
AR: What are your travel essentials?
AC: I learned to travel super-light even if I have to stay abroad for weeks with multiple destinations. I normally go carry on with 5/6 T-shirts, 2 pair of Jeans, plenty of underwear and sox.. sweater and tooth brush / paste. Hotels can do laundry pretty good in 2015. I always keep a little room for things I shop around.
AR: What is on your playlist right now?
AC: Always the same guys.. The Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers (both had a great new album this year), Nine Inch Nails and my weird 80's selection.
AR: For anyone visiting your town, what is a go-to restaurant that can’t me missed? What’s your favorite dish on the menu?
AC: In Milano you can't miss the Pizza downstairs my apartment, it's called Original Pizza Ok and it's my Sunday classic. If you want to have something a bit ore creative you shall probably go to see my friends Eugenio & Ben at Al Mercato. They can combine "Milanese food" with many fusion experiences, always in the right way.
AR: Describe your personal style.
AC: Simple. Jeans and T-Shirt kind of guy. A little "grungy" maybe?
AR: What is your favorite Ace Rivington product?
